Collin David Lenninger

On February 21st, Collin David joined our family!  We were all hoping he would have come just 12 hours earlier so he could have shared a birthday with Grandpa Brown, but I can't blame him really..he wanted a day ALL to himself :)  I was able to go see the little guy last Saturday - and if you think babies are sweet, wait until you meet him!  (hopefully I didn't just jinx something).
Uncle Tony and I are so overjoyed with having another nephew.  His older sister, Kate will sure be a great helper in the months to come...and I'm sure soon enough, Collin will get used to Kate's kisses, laughter, and her (pretty loud) scream.

Here are a few pictures of our newest member :)

Winter weekend in DC

This weekend we were fortunate that Tony had 3 days off of school so we could enjoy some time in DC together! There is SO much to see here, but with only 48 hours, we can't do nearly as much as we would like.

I flew in Saturday around 4pm and soon realized how crazy the DC traffic is - they're not lying when they say that it's the worst in the country...and I bet we didn't even see nearly how bad it can be!  Using our awesome "hotel tonight" app (strongly recommend) we got a great hotel that is just a 5 minute walk from the White House and all the action..

Saturday night we went to a tapas bar and looooved it.. spending a whole lot of money (worth every cent, however) we decided to have our actual dinner downstairs at chipotle.  It was a perfect night!  Walking back to the hotel I told Tony how much I missed living in a city... that I loved the action, the people, and the chaos.  Not sure he felt the same...and the fact that we had to download a "white noise" app on the iPad at 3am to drown out the sirens and drunk people yelling, maybe he had valid reasons ;)

After breakfast this morning we realized in about 30 seconds that we were not dressed appropriately (yes MOM's!! I know what you're thinking) so we walked to a sports store to buy a couple of hats and went back to our hotel to layer up as much as we could.  Perhaps the coldest day of the year didn't necessarily make it an ideal walking tour of DC...but it was sure fun to stop in to old pubs for bloody Mary's to warm us up :)
